December | Holiday Party

We kept our tradition of celebrating the year together with our friends and colleagues from the Labs of Cervantes, Au-Yeung, Li, and Ghosn Labs.

Happy Holidays and Happy New Year!

November | Annual Cook-off Event

The 2022 Chef Laureate Award goes to….

Alex Nazzari (Dessert) & Eliver Ghosn (Main Dish)

Check out our Gallery to see more photos! It was a very fun and competitive event this year! Congratulations to all that participated!

September | New rotating student

Chengyu is joining our team as a rotating graduate student from the IMP (Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis) Program. He received training in biomedical science and bioinformatics, particularly single-cell transcriptomics, in China and the UK. He is interested in combining experimentation and computation in his Ph.D. research. Chengyu will be working with our graduate student Alex Nazzari on developing assays to detect autoantibodies in human samples from prenatal to adult life.

Welcome to the team, Chengyu!

May | Promoted to Associate Scientist!

Dr. Astrid Kosters (wearing a red sweater) has been a member of the Ghosn Lab since its inception in 2017. She is the first member to join the lab and help shape our scientific vision. As lab manager, Astrid is also instrumental in maintaining the lab operations and training new lab members.

This month, Astrid has been promoted to Associate Scientist. This promotion was well-earned. Congratulations, Astrid! We are lucky to have you in the lab!

April | New Award from the Gates Foundation

We are very excited to join a fantastic team of researchers at the Gates Foundation to develop new cell therapies using human B cells/plasma cells!

February | new Rotating Student

Alex Nazzari is joining our team as a rotating graduate student from the IMP (Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis) Program. Alex will learn high-dimensional flow cytometry and apply these techniques to mapping the stages of B-cell development in fetal life. Outside of the lab, Alex enjoys cooking, photography, and gardening.

Welcome to the team, Alex!

February | new Rotating Student

Weiwen Zhang is joining our team as a rotating graduate student from the IMP (Immunology and Molecular Pathogenesis) Program. Weiwen will learn B-cell repertoire analysis (VDJ-seq) and apply these methods to investigate human B-cell receptor repertoire in prenatal vs. adult life. Weiwen received her MD degree from China, and she is passionate about translational immunology research that can make a difference in the world.

Welcome to the team, Weiwen!
